| I am now having this problem. My desktop PC updates no issue, but my laptop no longer will Update. I get the Red X failed to update error. Never had this problem before. Nothing has changed with my laptop since the last time I used it. I tried uninstalling and re installing software, but still get the red X. |

| Yes i understand your concern, the software is designed in an object oriented way so there is good separation between each bin file type, so changes are isolated to particular bin file, unless they are common code like flashing routines or engine data etc. |

It is a support nightmare if there are many different versions of the software out there at any one time, it is much better if everyone is on the same version of the software. It eliminates a lot of unknowns and makes getting issues resolved much faster.
Good (and valid) point Justin.
I have no way (other than illegal disassembling) to verify the code.
If your design and implementation is good avy new feature/support in the code for new ECU's will not affect other "classes/methods/interfaces"(what I fear each time WRT is updated).

| After problem with new release 1.1.84 I would propose a new option to disable automatic updates.
It might also be wise to consider if code to handle different brands/ECU's (Kawasaki/Suzuki, Denso/Mitshubishi) was put in separate dll's (loaded on demand... and let updates be done to dlls handling a specific ECU/interface).
And not just everything (code/executable) in one .exe.
Jut a thought.

I had version 1.1.83 on another computer (laptop) and this also give me the same error message. |

| If it still fails to update can you please click on the red cross on the main form and select 'View error details' to give me more of an idea of why the update is failing.
The detail is: "wyUpdate failed to start."
I fixed the problem by modifying the properties of file wyUpdate.exe and setting its compatibility to "Windows 7". |

| It could be your Anti Virus application blocking the connection to the internet. Can you please try to disable the Anti Virus and see if you are able to update. |

| I have just updated the installer on the Woolich Racing Site, please uninstall the 'Woolich Racing Tuned' software from the Windows Control panel and install with the latest version of the installer http://www.woolichracing.com/tuned/
Ok, I reinstalled from scratch and now the version is 1.1.04, but the update check is still failing in the same way. |

| After scratch installing my xp sp3 pc with windows 7 enterprise edition 64 bit, I reinstalled .net 4.0 and wrt, downloaded the 33 bin files
but when trying to update I get the error: "X Failed to check for updates".
The wrt program run normally, but is stil v1.0.81.
Is any other layered software required? |

| The update process for the Woolich Racing Tuned (WRT) software is seamless and automated, when you open the WRT software it automatically checks to see if you have the latest version installed. If there is a newer version available it will be downloaded in the background.

The next time you open the WRT software it will be automatically updated to the latest version.

You can also choose to 'Install update now' which will close the software and install the update and re-open the software with the latest version.
