Sounds good. Always checking back to see |

Re: How far out it the yamaha cables? |
Ok thanks, i appreciate the offers of assistance, I will keep you in the loop on developments on this and let you know when we are ready for some testing, enabling data logging of tps, iap, rpm and afr is a priority for us at the moment. stay tuned for more.
Been a few months any more news for testing? |

Re: How far out it the yamaha cables? |
I saw that post on there Ballard, they were really harsh on you... protecting a good little earner for himself i would say. This is something I am interested in looking at, will investigate further when we put some more effort into the Yamaha models later in the year.
Nice, both of you.
I really like the new VMax, but until the ECU is supported by your software Justin, I stay away.
(Well, the cost to buy one here in Norway is also a good reason too) |

Re: How far out it the yamaha cables? |
Hi thanks for your interest in the flashing for yamaha's. We are in the early stages of this development and it will be some time before we have a production release of this in WRT. I will keep you in mind when we get closer to do some testing etc.
Sounds good as a calibrator I have access to both chassis and engine dynos. I won't be pulling the r6 engine for the dyno unless its same timing as building the bottom end then I would use engine dyno as well. For this I will be using dynojet or mustang dyno the choice is yours. If timing I'd right the engine dyno would be a super flow
I've written a decent amount a coding for open source Mitsubishi and subi stuff if that Can be any other assistants besides testing I would glady help as well.
The release of a logging device with interface I think would be money in the yamaha world. Like I said there are 1 or 2 options to flash but lack of logging has turned alot of people off by that
Let me know |

Re: How far out it the yamaha cables? |
Wow...almost makes me want to re-investigate the front end part of hacking again...
Yes, I too feel an old familiar stir. |

Re: How far out it the yamaha cables? |
May need to cut the ECU in order to extract the file, at least for the first time. Might need to always cut it if the communications aren't wired to the factory connector.
I have some evidence that this is not the case.
The guy who holds the reflash business is one on the sponsors of the starvmax site and forum.
He admitted that self reflash is possible, than obviously he raised 1001 reasons not to do it....
I did not insist because whoever rises this possibility is a candidate for being banned form that forum. |

I follow the Yamaha VMAX Gen2 (2009-2013) forum and there is a great interest for reflashing there. The current VMAX reflashing business is a monopoly by one guy that requires ECUs shipped to US for him to reflash. This is clearly unacceptable by almost everybody out of US because of custom fees, delays and other risks. Moreover any update need the same back and forth of ECU. VMAX ECU is similar to Hayabusa Gen1 (SH705x), so it should be an easy candidate for reslashing at home with WRT interface. VMAX owners seem to be people willing to spend any amount of money for their bike, improve driveability and restriction removal are on top of the list , the potential is there.
I myself am waiting for this functionality before getting a VMAX....

Re: How far out it the yamaha cables? |
Come on woolich racing!! We need another alternative to flashtune. It is one of biggest software releases I have ever seen. I e been calibrating engines for the last 10 years its amazing how bugging flashtune is considering a public release and there's been about 6-7 firmware upgrades and each bring there own bugs that barely fix the existing one lol.
It also amazes me that flashtune can release software for flashing stock ecu but doesn't have a logger?? The ecu is already calculating the data anyway. There smart enough to reverse engineer the stock ecu but can't get the data out of the ecu that its calculating anyway I don't get it.
All seriousness I would be glad to be a test mile for yamaha interface and log box. I have been calibrating engines for the last 10 years of my career everything from all motor big blocks to standing mile bikes, and everything in between
I'm not looking for a freebie for testing ill gladly pay for cable and box just want to help the community and give people an option rather than 1 or 2 choices 1 of which you can only map yourself
Thanks

How far out is the software for yamaha? There is one or two options now for tuning the stock ecu but lack of logging has me turned off. I used the software a few times on some kawis I have my options but it is decent software.
Just curious if you have a time frame and or looking for some testing outside the company |
