Re: Autotune wideband o2 install location |
UPDATE:
I did manage to find a spot in the collector. Right hand side just under the exhaust hanger bracket. The collector is single walled and with a little grinding of the hanger weld and bracket I installed the o2 bung at a 30 degree angle and have plenty of room for the sensor since it is now between the frame and the slip-on exhaust.
Should get a good reading in this location with no issues from heat although with the short distance from the exhaust port (20 something inches) it may not be the ideal location but pretty damn close. Not gonna get much better location with the slip-on I have chose. |

Re: Autotune wideband o2 install location |
I'm going to try and get it installed in the collector on the stock manifold but its such a small area (collector) and I'm still not sure if its double walled or not.
The resonator chamber on the Taylor made GP slip on exhaust is very small and would really only add another 8-10 inches or so in length if i installed the o2 after it. I'm just concerned I won't get optimal readings in this location.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated |

Re: Autotune wideband o2 install location |
Its very difficult with those types of exhaust systems. If the only spot you can mount it is after the resonator then that's all you can do. Just make sure its not too far bike or it make tuning IAP very difficult.

Autotune wideband o2 install location |
I am trying to figure out the best location to install the wideband o2 sensor for the autotune.
Bike is a 2015 Honda CBR1000rr with stock manifold (header) and Taylor made racing GP exhaust.
Can I install the o2 sensor in the exhaust pipe after the resonator (not a cat) or does it have to be in the manifold? I believe the collector is double walled and is a very small area for install. |
