Re: LBP (Mitsu) and 2011+ ZX-10R Issue |
Magically, my issue was solved... It did a software update so I don't know if that helped (doubtful) or what the issue was.
I plugged in and their were log files on the micro SD card, so I pulled those to my laptop, then read the ECU, checked "enable O2 sensor" thus disabling it.
Flashed it back and fired the bike up and let it sit at idle for a few minutes.
Connected back up, and there was a log file and I had no red FI light...
I put in probably 4 hours on the bike today with no FI light and a bunch of data when I got home... so I don't know. But problem solved; case closed! |

Re: LBP (Mitsu) and 2011+ ZX-10R Issue |
I have a 2011 ZX10R and I'm running the LBPM with the O2 Disable checked and it logs data with no problem I realize this doesn't help you any! |

Re: LBP (Mitsu) and 2011+ ZX-10R Issue |
I'm confused here haha. I mean enabling the O2 sensor option shouldnt do anything since its not tied directly to the ECU... but that was the only thing I changed and it started logging data. I double checked everything and ensured I was in data log mode.
I changed all the config options so it would log immediately even if the bike wasnt running. I also changed the config to log data even if it engine data mode. Still nothing. As soo as I enabled the O2 sensor option in WRT it worked... I'm baffled haha.
I talked to another US 4th gen user and his works and his 02 sensor option is checked.
I have a few hours before work so maybe I'll look at it again here. Not a pressing issue as the bike runs fine. I'll do more troubleshooting and report back what I find. |

LBP (Mitsu) and 2011+ ZX-10R Issue |
Got my LBP this weekend; love it. Still toying with it, but man this thing is awesome. Totally blows away the old setup I had by a company with the initials "DJ"
So, issue... on US bikes we don't have an O2 sensor. But we're required to leave the 02 sensor removal option unticked to ensure data comes through. I know this because I had it ticked in my old flash and wasn't getting a data log initially on my first few runs. I then dumped my ECU, unticked the option, reflashed it and boom, data log.
Now I am getting an FI light/code for "Error 67". Which according to the manual is "Oxygen Sensor Heater (Service Code 67, Equipped Models)".
Well, since the US bikes don't have an O2 sensor stock, I'm guessing we don't have an O2 sensor heater sensor. Here is what the book says about the code:
Oxygen Sensor Heater Removal/Installation
The oxygen sensor heater is built in the oxygen sensor. So, the heater itself can not be removed. Remove the oxygen sensor (see Oxygen Sensor Removal (Equipped Models) in the Electrical System chapter).
Oxygen Sensor Heater Resistance Inspection
•Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
•Remove the fuel tank (see Fuel Tank Removal in the Fuel
System (DFI) chapter).
•Disconnect the oxygen sensor lead connector .
•Connect a digital meter to the terminals in the oxygen
sensor lead connector .
•Measure the oxygen sensor heater resistance.
Oxygen Sensor Heater Resistance
Connections: W lead ←→ W lead
Standard: 6.7 ∼ 10.5 Ω at 20° (68°F)
If the reading is out of the standard, replace the sensor.
If the reading is within the standard, check the power source voltage (see Oxygen Sensor Heater Power Source Voltage Inspection).
I'm guessing I can just find the associated wiring and toss in a 8-8.5ohm resistor and get around it. I'm just wondering if there are other US 4th Gen ZX-10Rs that are getting this issue and if it's something that can be fixed or not or if the issue is on my end. Other than that, the LBP(M) is working great and providing a lot of useful data. |
