Re: Log Box Pro usage at race track with no Wifi available |
i am not sure what the problem is? You dont need to be connected to the internet to use the Log Box Pro with AutoTune at the track? Initially when you first use the product you do need an internet connection but not after this? If there is no internet connection and the software checks for updates it will just realize there is no connection and wait until next time before checking again.
I went for a ride with some mates into northern NSW over the weekend and was happily tuning my ZX10R with the Log Box Pro (Mitsubishi) in areas where the people dont even know what the internet is, i didnt even have mobile phone coverage |

Re: Log Box Pro usage at race track with no Wifi available |
I understand about using a phone for Internet and my home and portable Internet has been "WiFi only" for years now...
TWO examples of "limited internet access" for me are OSW (Orlando Speed World) and SGMP (South Georgia Motorsports Park). I've had issues with limited Internet (poor-signal) with my WiFi and Phone at both of those tracks...
My issue is that it makes no sense the render a very important feature of an expensive box useless simply because you have no internet connection...
Don't get me wrong here, the use of Live Engine Data at a race track "shouldn't be needed" with the Log Box Data logging internally but what am I supposed to do when I take my portable dyno to those tracks and NEED live Engine Data to show me TPS on the Fuel Table for anything below 100% throttle dyno-pulls
There are still more important issues going on with the "180s" Software though so this isn't anywhere near a top priority to me at this time...
Posting some of those issues next since my tune for today was a no-show... |

Re: Log Box Pro usage at race track with no Wifi available |
| How I get around this issue, is I have my phone rooted and running a custom ROM that enables wifi or bluetooth internet connection sharing. Lets me use my phone as a modem basically. This is on Android, I'm guessing iOS would have something similar if you jailbroke the phone.
I know that may not be a good option for you, but it works for me so I thought maybe I'd toss it out there. |

Log Box Pro usage at race track with no Wifi available |
| Justin will this be a feature you can make available, I notice the following posted in email earlier in this thread.
I wish we could disable Auto Updates some other way other than turning WiFi off (works fine with Interface) but the Software won't let me use the Lob Box Pro Engine Data with no Internet connection!?!?!?" |
