good stuff, i love an easy solution |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Lol, that was exactly it.
Had the harness plugged into the black connector.
It's now in the white and displaying engine data and producing log files like a Pro.
Now on to the fun stuff!
Thanks.

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Will check it out when I get back from on work today.
Wasn't aware there were two diagnostic plugs in the tail that would fit into the harness. I'll double check that too. I believe that is the source of my issue OMG
Thanks. |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
We had one customer who had a similar problem and it was a loose pin in the white diagnostic connector, please check the grey and blue wires in the white diagnostic connector. |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Also, there are 2 diagnostic plugs in the tail of the bike, please ensure you have the harness connected to the white diagnostic plug. |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Ahh sorry, i went on a tangent. Ok so when you plug it into the bike, and put it in data logging mode with the ignition key on, you should see the green led flash rapidly? do you see this when you plug it in? |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
It's on firmware 1.02.
This updated when I first got it, a few weeks ago.
Just can't get this guy to view engine data or produce any log files.
It works in the read/write switch setting, but can't get it to work in the two other settings. |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Have you updated to the latest firmware? If not please connect the log box pro, put it in read/write mode then go to "Device Configuration", this will check the firmware version and update if required.
Not sure why it is not passing the Test, i will take a look at the test to see if there is any explanation, but at the end of the day if it is working with the actual ECU i would not be too worried about the test interface failing? |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
In flashing mode, read ECU and read serial number do work. I can write to the ECU also.
My Log Box Pro has failed several times in the middle of an ECU read though.
When we used Nels' LogBox instead of my Log Box Pro, reading and writing were much faster and never any read or write errors.
This was all after installing a new harness. |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Have you tried just doing an Read ECU and/or Read Serial Number while connected to the ECU? |

Re: Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Ran tests with LBP connected to harness and laptop in read/write mode and engine data mode, with ignition on.
Test passed once, but subsequent tries, tests failed noting:
"Read data length does not match write data length"
Checked voltage for pins:
3 and 8: 10.25
4 and 8: 14.7 |

Can't Read Engine Data and No Logging Files Generated |
Have been having trouble with intermittently not being able to connect to the ECU for purposes of reading ECU, logging data, and viewing real-time engine data.
I brought my bike to Nels in Seattle and got the harness replaced totally.
We used his logbox to read and write to my ECU with no issues at all. When we hooked my Log Box Pro up, we couldn't get it to log data files or show real time data.
The error message showing was "Customer serial number could not be read".
Reading the ECU worked some times, and not others.
This was from a new harness, so that can't be the issue, and connecting his LogBox never gave any issues reading and writing multiple changes to the ECU during Dyno runs.
Please help, trying to get this working. We were thinking it must be something with the LBP itself.
Thanks,
Chris |
