| With the newer style interfaces (including Log Box Pro's and USB v2s') they no longer use a COM port driver, they use a built in Windows USB Driver. You can check if the device is installed and available by opening windows "Devices and Printers". You should see an entry for "Woolich Racing USB"

If my laptop picks up the log box as a usb device and I can open the folder is it safe to say my com settings are good and I can rule that out?
No.
"Open the folder" means that your OS/drivers have recognized the SD-card on the device.
The USB<->COM settings still have to be verified.
For most "non hw-geeks" this *can* be difficult to resolve sometimes.

| For the Mitsubishi interfaces you need to have 12v supplied to pin 5 and ground to pin 8 before testing, if you dont do this the test will fail. |

| From what I remember, you have to jumper some pins to test the interface (using the drop down menu option). The instructions should be somewhere in there. |

| Testing the mitsubishi usb interface and unlocking both fail right away. To run the test I connected the log box to my laptop via usb and left it disconnected from the bike and click "test interface". The red light stays on and the green light flashes a few times and then the test fails, similarly to when I try to read ECU. "Read data length does not match write data length". Am I running the test incorrectly? The unlock I connected everything, the bike key is switched to on and it's in Neutral with the kill switch on run. Any more suggestions before I bring it back in? |

| yes everything should be as if you were about to read/write to the ecu so
- Ignition On
- Kill switch in Run position
- Bike in Neutral |

| There is no problem with using the unlock on an ECU, it will not do any damage, it will prompt you to let you know that it could take 48 hours to complete, but 99% of the time if the ECU has been locked it will be unlocked within the first couple of minutes.
You can safely close the WRT software when it is mid way through an ECU unlock if you dont want to wait until it completes. |

| I finally got everything installed by a shop. The guy is pretty precise so I doubt the problem was with the install, but I can't get the ecu to read. It's communicating with my laptop just fine. I got my bike used and am worried it has been flashed before. Is there any harm in running the "unlock ECU" to rule this out before I go back and have him look at the install? |
