| The filename is not stored in the ECU when you write the bin file, there is a comments section on the main screen where you can add comments etc and this information is written to the ECU, and also read back out.

| Hi Folks,
I'm just curious: If I modify a BIN file, then save it on my PC with a new name, or modified name, and then later 'write' it to the ECU, does the ECU recognize and retain the 'new' BIN file name?
The reason I ask is, I go ahead and write a modified BIN file (with a new name) to my ECU. Later, I go back and 'read' the ECU, and the process works just fine, but when it opens the BIN file read from the ECU, the 'new' name is not indicated in the WRT software. The WRT software just says that I have read a 21175-0257 BIN file.
I assume that this is normal, and I just have to be aware of what BIN file I am reading?
Unless I'm missing something? Maybe the new name is indicated somewhere and I'm just not seeing it? |
