Clutch switch bypass

Postby MiniChuckD » Thu Jul 26, 2018 8:33 pm

I've got a 2011 zx6r installed in a mini sprint. I'm wanting to bypass the clutch switch so if I spin the car out in gear i can pull the clutch in and start it back up and keep going. Currently i have to have someone push me so i can get the car back in neutral so it will start. Im also wanting to know if I jumper the starter lockout switch will it limit the max rpm of the motor since the ECU sees the clutch always pulled in?

I have a hayabusa in a radical so I don't know how much is the same but here's what I did.
I put a pressure switch, like for a brake light, on the clutch slave to trigger a relay to ground the "clutch in" pin on the ecu. Simple ground through relay.

Also since I'm running E85 I wanted the start cold enrichment circuit, but it has to know that the clutch in "in" to initiate that feature so I have the manual start switch trigger another relay to make it think as long as the starter motor is running it sends a ground signal to the "clutch in" pin on the ecu.

Now you have to be careful the car will start in gear and clutch out so buyer beware, your mileage will vary. Sounds like first option may do what you need with not much.

It might be the long way around but it's around.

I pull the starter relay out of my harnesses when I do them. I mainly do gsxr and rr harnesses, but have done some 04-07 zx6 also. We run mini sprints also.
